Gifts from Individuals  
 
In the U.S. and elsewhere, gifts from individuals make up the bulk of charitable giving, widely surpassing the totals contributed by public and community charities.
 
Charity Channel
Charity Channel uses the site’s Canadian prospect research section to search archived information and to connect with community members re gift-giving and charitable interests.
 
Charity Navigator
Charity Navigator describes itself as a guide (for donors) to intelligent charitable giving. Charities are grouped by program category and given 1 to 4 'stars' on the basis of criteria ranging from quality of service to CEO compensation.
 
Foundation Center
The Center treats visitors to its extensive collection of print and electronic resources for identifying prospective donors. The Center's 990 search engine can be used to identify individual donors to specific nonprofits by reviewing the organization's annual tax returns.
 
National Committee on Planned Giving
The Committee on Planned Giving is the roof organization to more than 130 local planned giving councils. The NCPG site's Resource Center includes an online library, tools for valuation of planned gifts, lists of companies that provide gift planning services, and research reports on donor behavior.
 
Canadian Association of Gift Planners
Although the site does not access data on individual donors, ACGP does link to a varied group of organizations and instructions in planned giving, financial planning, and donor development.
 
Network for Good
The Network for Good is an e-philanthropy site where individuals can donate, volunteer and get involved with the philanthropic and service issues they care about has become an increasingly important venue for soliciting gifts from individuals.
 
THE GIVING FORUM
The Giving Forum and its Knowledge Center conducts research and provides information to donors concerned with racial, ethnic and tribal philanthropy. It accesses donor blogs, shares information on giving circles and supports donor choices through toolkits and data searches.
 
TACTICAL PHILANTHROPY
Tactical Philanthropy accesses scores of BLOGS of interest to donors and fundraisers. Examples: "who owns a nonprofit" and "how a percentage of all Internet credit card purchases can be directed to a designated charity".
